Composer Jennifer Jolley’s Mizzou residency scheduled for April 26-29, 2022

Jennifer Jolley, a member of the composition faculty at Texas Tech University’s School of Music, will be in Columbia as composer-in-residence at the University of Missouri School of Music from Tuesday, April 26 through Friday, April 29, 2022. Jennifer Jolley Jolley’s residency is led by Dr. Brian Silvey, Mizzou’s Director of Bands, and is funded by the Mizzou New Music Initiative (MNMI) and the Sinquefield Charitable Foundation. 2022 Creating Original Music Project Festival to showcase award-winning works from Missouri student composers on Saturday, April 23 at Mizzou

The winning composers in the 2022 Creating Original Music Project (COMP) competition will receive awards and have their compositions performed at the COMP Festival on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the University of Missouri in Columbia. The event, which will take place in Sheryl Crow Hall at the Sinquefield Music Center, will be free to the public. Bassoonist Leigh Muñoz returns to Mizzou for residency from April 14- 18, 2022

Leigh Muñoz, Assistant Professor of Bassoon at the Conservatory at University of Missouri-Kansas City and a former faculty member at the University of Missouri School of Music, returns to Columbia for a residency from April 14 -18, 2022. Mizzou New Music Initiative announces winners in the 2022 Creating Original Music Project Competition

The winning composers in the 2022 Creating Original Music Project (COMP) have been announced by the Mizzou New Music Initiative. Now in its 17th year, COMP is an annual statewide competition sponsored by the University of Missouri School of Music and the Sinquefield Charitable Foundation. COMP showcases new, original music from Missouri student composers and songwriters in grades K-12, offering positive recognition, prizes, performances, educational opportunities, and more.
