Alarm Will Sound, the 20-member contemporary music ensemble, is returning to Columbia to perform in concert on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Sinquefield Music Center on the University of Missouri campus. Missouri Composers Project (MOCOP) seeks new orchestral, choral music for concert in March 2022

The Missouri Composers Project (MOCOP) is looking for new, large-ensemble music written by Missouri residents to be performed in a concert on March 20, 2022. Now in its tenth year, MOCOP is a collaborative effort involving the Mizzou New Music Initiative, the Columbia Civic Orchestra (CCO), the Columbia Chamber Choir, and the Sinquefield Charitable Foundation to bring attention to new large ensemble works written in the state of Missouri. Visiting Artist Ami Dang to perform Nov. 4, 2021 as part of the Columbia Experimental Music Festival

Amrita “Ami” Kaur Dang, (pictured) a South Asian-American vocalist, sitarist, composer and producer from Baltimore, will be a visiting artist at the Mizzou New Music Initiative on Nov. 4, and open the 2021 Columbia Experimental Music Festival with a performance that evening. $10 million donation kicks off campaign for new music building at Mizzou

Jeanne and Rex Sinquefield have given a $10 million gift to the University of Missouri to help fund the proposed new School of Music building. The gift, the largest ever in support of the arts at MU, was announced in a news conference on Friday April 10 at the Reynolds Alumni Center on the Mizzou campus. C.O.M.P. winners perform on KSDK’s Show Me St. Louis

Two of the winners in the 2013 Creating Original Music Project (C.O.M.P.) competition performed this past Thursday, April 11 on Show Me St. Louis, an entertainment news program that airs on NBC affiliate KSDK at 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Menea Kefalov and Ande Siegel of Ladue Middle School were the first-place winners this year in the Middle School – Popular division for their song “This Generation.” You can see them performing it and being interviewed by Show Me St. Louis host Julie Tristan in the embedded video below.
