Erin Hoerchler wins ASCAP Foundation scholarship
Mizzou alum Erin Marie Hoerchler is the winner of the 2018 ASCAP Foundation Frederick Loewe Scholarship. Hoerchler (pictured), who earned her bachelor of music degree in composition from Mizzou in 2017, is a composer, vocalist, and musical director with a particular interest in musical theater. She will begin work in September on a master of fine arts degree from New York University’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing program. The ASCAP Foundation Frederick Loewe Scholarship is presented annually to a student of musical theater composition at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Student Composers Concert set for Sunday, April 24 at Whitmore Recital Hall

Mizzou New Music Ensemble, Exit 128 Orchestra
to perform Sunday, December 6 at Missouri Theatre
The Mizzou New Music Ensemble will join forces with the Exit 128 Chamber Orchestra to present “Electric New Music” at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, December 6 at the Missouri Theatre, 203 South 9th St. Admission is free for Mizzou students, faculty and staff with ID, $5 for the general public. Erin Höerchler featured in Columbia Daily Tribune
Mizzou composition major Erin Höerchler was the subject of a feature article last week in the Columbia Daily Tribune. Mizzou students are winners in young composers competition
Erin Hoerchler Mizzou composition students Erin Hoerchler and Gus Knobbe are among the winners of the Community Music School of Webster University‘s 11th Annual Young Composers Competition. collaborating again for concerts on November 14, 15 & 16
Composers from the Mizzou New Music Initiative are working once again with choreographers and dancers from Stephens College to create original music for this year’s Senior Dance Concert at Stephens.
