The Mizzou New Music Ensemble will present a preview of music from their upcoming tour of South America and more in a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 9 at the Sinquefield Music Center on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia. Mizzou New Music Ensemble hitting the road in May
for concert in Texas, tour of South America
The Mizzou New Music Ensemble will hit the road this spring to perform a concert in Fort Worth, TX, followed by a tour of South America that will take them to Argentina, Brazil, Peru and Uruguay. The journey will begin with a performance at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Ft. The Missouri Association of Departments and Schools of Music (MADSM) and the Mizzou New Music Initiative are looking for new chamber music written by college students in Missouri for the second annual MADSM Collegiate Composition Competition. Founded in 2018 to encourage the creation of original chamber music that can be played by high-school level musicians, the MADSM Collegiate Composition Competition is open to all students currently enrolled in any MADSM member institution, with separate categories for undergraduate and graduate students. 2019 Mizzou International Composers Festival complete schedule
Here is the complete schedule of events for the 2019 Mizzou International Composers Festival. Celebrating its tenth year in 2019, the MICF begins on Monday, July 22 and continues through Saturday, July 27. All festival events listed are free and open to the public, with general admission seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Events will take place at the Fine Arts Building and Loeb Hall on the campus of the University of Missouri; at the Missouri Theatre, Cafe Berlin, and two “pop-up” locations in downtown Columbia; and at the Firestone Baars Chapel on the campus of Stephens College.
